Training on Tuesday Night

The Tuesday run this week (1st May) will be in Tollymore.  Please meet at 6:30pm in the Upper Car Park.  There will be one mile efforts starting and finishing at the Clanbrasil Bridge for those who are looking for a bit of a session.  Tay could be available if there were sufficient athletes to warrant such extravagance.  Please e-mail me if you will be there and think we should have tay.

Congratulations to Eoghan on his recent run at Queen’s, Brendan and Deon on their wins at the weekend and Audey on his recent financial winfall!

Club Session on Tuesday April 3rd

This Tuesday we will have a 5 x 1 mile speed session on forest trails in preparation for the first three Hill and Dale races.  The session will be a one mile loop from the Iveagh Bridge.  This week we will meet in the top Car Park of Tollymore Forest Park at 6:30pm and not the Newcastle Centre.

Everyone welcome as there might even be some light refreshments on offer to mark the last session before the beginning of the Hill and Dale

What is happening this week?

To avoid the mayhem and confision that overwhelmed the club last week, I would like to inform athletes that this Tuesday’s session, for those of us who still attend the traditional club session at 6.30pm, will be 1km efforts.  The number will vary between 4-6 depending on recovery from Jimmy’s and plans for next weekend.

On Thursday there will be a double header of race preparation.  Firstly there will be a run around the Leitrm 5 mile course at 6pm sharp (Leaving from The GAA club on the Backaderry Road).  Athletes will then travel the short distance to Castlewellan for a jog around the Spring Lake course (Departing from the GAA club at 7pm sharp).  This will be followed by a cup of tea in Castlewelan GAA club (£1 payable locally).  Hope to see many of you there. For the record, myself, The Prophet and Donal Ward are already commited to both runs!

No notes and a session

There will be no club notes this week.  Any items that were sent will be retained and included in the next set.  Please forward any details of races and results for the next write up.

Tuesday’s club session will be a 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1 pyramid.  Meeting at Newcastle Centre at 6:30pm as usual

Next Tuesday March 6th will be a 5km timetrial.  Please let me know if you intend running.  There is also the possibility of a little Exotikka afterwards.
