Saturday saw the first race of the Athletics NI Cross Country League in Kilbroney Park, Rostrevor. This was the first year the Bobby Rea Memorial XC Race had been held there. Being the first race many were out to test their form coming off the road season and Newcastle AC had a good showing with seven athletes toeing the line. Continue reading

Kilbroney Park, Rostrevor is the venue this Saturday 27th October for the 1st race in the NI Cross Country League. The Bobby Rea Memorial races will start at 2:40pm. If you intend to race please contact our XC captain, Brendan Donnelly who will be organising car sharing. Entries are being taken on the day or you can enter online (and save £1!). Prior to this at the same venue, 38 of our talented juniors will be in action at the NI & Ulster Even Age Group XC Championships. We have teams in U10 boys, U12 Boys (2 teams), U12 Girls, U16 Boys, U16 Girls and individuals in U10 Girls, U14 Boys and U14 Girls. Racing starts at 11:30am.
Kerry Harty who represented Ireland in the European XC championships in Portugal at the weekend finished in 47th place in the Senior womens 8K race. Full report on ANI website.
