Hill and Dale Race 10 – Meels takes place on Thursday 9th June. The Route is Anti-Clockwise. 

Full body cover must be brought to race. There will be kit checks at start and finish of race. 

Parking and Race Registration is at the Happy Valley Car Park.

** IMPORTANT NOTICE : Any runner who knowingly competes using another athletes race number, without a number or without registering at the start of each race will be banned from the Hill and Dale Series and all future NAC organised events.

Anyone not following this rule is putting others lives at risk.

The race organisers must know who starts and finishes each race, to ensure all runners are accounted for and no one is lost on the hills.**

Registration

Registration will open at 6:30pm and close at 7:20pm SHARP at the Happy Valley Car Park.

Online Registration is NOW CLOSED and will reopen on Friday after the race.

Entries will NOT be accepted on the night if you did not register online.

Please remember if you collected your Race Number at a previous race, to bring it along to Race 10.

New Barcoding System

• All numbers must be worn on front of vest and not on shorts.
• Please try to pin your number on as flat as possible.
• Please do not fold numbers.
• At your 1st race you will be issued with a barcoded race number
• Always make sure your number is scanned before the start of each race, if you don’t you will not appear in the results and be disqualified from the series.
• Please ensure your barcode is visible and scannable at the finish line. Make sure your arms or hands are not in the way e.g stopping a watch.
• Look after your number, there is a £5 charge for replacement.

The use of barcoding and looking after your numbers is to help reduce the workload of the volunteers involved with the series. Thank-you for your support.

Hill and Dale Race 9 – Hen and Cock takes place on Thursday 9th June. Full body cover must be brought to race. There will be kit checks at start and finish of race. Route details are below.

Main PARKING is at the back of the house (just off the lane on way to race start) – opposite registration car park.

There is a welcome return to Doran’s Mourneview Bar near Hilltown for soup and sandwiches after the race.

Hill and Dale Race 8 – Millstone takes place on Thursday 2nd June. Full body cover must be brought to race. There will be kit checks at start and finish of race. Route details are below. Please note the route is the same as 2015. The route goes up the Granite Trail onto Millstone mountain.

Start in Donard car park 372 303
CP1 378 295 granite trail junction in Donard Forest.
CP2 375 287 small old quarry en route to base of Millstone Mountain
CP3 372 285 top of Millstone Mountain
CP4 371 293 Quarry approach on the RHS from Millstone and do not cross river.

4-times Winner Jim Hayes to start 71st Slieve Donard Race

The 71st Slieve Donard Race will be started by one of the ‘fathers’ of mountain racing in this part of the world, Jim Hayes of Ballydrain Harriers. It could almost be said that Jim’s association with the race goes right back to the start – ironically he was born in the year of the first Donard race – 1946 – but confirming the benefits of great mountain air, by looking at him you wouldn’t believe he was born that long ago. Hill and Dale Race 7 – Slieve Donard takes place on Saturday 28th May at 2pm. Full body cover must be brought to race. There will be kit checks at start and finish of race.

Hill and Dale Race 6 – Loughshannagh Horseshoe takes place on Thursday 19th May. Route Direction is CLOCKWISE. Full body cover must be brought to race. There will be kit checks at start and finish of race.

Please park safely and have respect other road users as this road is a popular road. If possible park at Car Park Beside Spelga and use the run to start as your warm up.
