As a result of finishing in the top 8 at the National Primary Schools Athletics Finals, held at the Mary Peters Track on 21 June, Calum Cope has been invited to attend the Belfast International Track & Field meet, also at the Mary Peters Track, on 1 August. The Primary School event will incorporate a 60m sprint, long jump and javelin.
We would like to congratulate the three Newcastle AC Junior athletes who took part in the fourth meet of the Firmus Fab 5 Series at the Mary Peter’s Track on Thursday 27 June. These were Henry Houston, Daire O’Gorman and Aoibheann O’Gorman.
Teammates Henry Houston and Daire O’Gorman both competed in the Under 11 Boys 800 metre race and they also battled it out in the Javelin competition.
Aoibheann O’Gorman also had a fantastic finish in the Under 13 Girls 800 metre race.

Exciting News – Juniors aged 13 to 18!
Newcastle AC are holding a Junior Mountain Running Training Day in Tollymore Mountain Centre on Monday 1st July 2019
Newcastle AC will host the NIMRA and IMRA junior teams as well as junior athletes from our club.
Now that summer is here, we would love if you would be free to come along and enjoy this exciting day to begin your summer holidays!
You don’t need to have run in the mountains to attend!
Location – Tollymore National Outdoor Centre, 32 Hilltown Road, Bryansford, Newcastle, BT33 0PZ
Date – Monday 1st July 2019
Time – 10:00am – 5:30pm
Cost – £15 paid on the day (including lunch and activities – kindly subsidised by the club)
Kit to bring
Waterproofs will be provided by the centre if required when doing activities outside.

Well done to Newcastle AC Junior member Erin Easton who took part in the Meet 3 of the Firmus Energy Super 5 Series at the Mary Peters Track last Thursday. Erin had a podium finish in the Javelin and 800m competitions, coming in third place. Erin also competed fantastically in the 100m race. Meet 4 of the series takes place on Thursday 27th June and we would love to see more Newcastle AC Juniors taking part! Newcastle AC Juniors were well represented at the second meet of the Firmus Energy Super 5 Series at the Mary Peters Track on Thursday 25th April. Daire O’Gorman, Aoibheann O’Gorman, Erin Easton and Henry Houston took part in 9 competitions collectively throughout the event.
Daire and Henry both took part in the Under 11 Boys Cricket Ball and the 600 metre races with some great performances.
Erin competed fantastically in the Under 11 Girls Long Jump and the 60 metre race.
Well done to Aoibheann who participated in 3 events throughout the evening including Under 15 Girls 200 metre race, Long Jump competition and 150 metre race.
