Congratulations to NJAC member Callum Cope who won the Under 11yrs 60m race and the Under 11yrs Long Jump at the Firmus Fab 5 Series last night held at the Mary Peters Track. Well done also to Cormac McAlinden who took part in the Boys Under 13yrs 100m and Long Jump.

Good luck to Ciara Savage from St Malachy’s High School Castlewellan who will be competing in the All Ireland Final of the School’s Cross Country Competition. Junior Chairperson and Club Coach PJ McCrickard presented Ciara with some new Newcastle AC Kit.

Newcastle AC athletes had expected the worst, but instead were greeted with sunshine for most of the event and little or no wind.
The conditions were heavy underfoot, with the odd shoe being lost in the mud.
Some fantastic results from our runners, with two particularly impressive PB’s from Ciara Savage in Yr 9 and Lora Stevens in Yr 10, both managing to qualify for Ulster in the process! Continue reading
